Feb. 29– The Concordia softball team (10-4) wrapped up their 2008 Florida Spring Break trip with a split against Alma at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers.  The Golden Bears won 12-0 in game one, before falling 1-0 in the second game of the double-header.

Game 1 - CU 12, Alma 0 (six innings)
Freshman Stephanie Schmika (Madison, WI) evened her record at 3-3 on the season with a 3-hitter in the win.  Freshman Sami Mattson (Esko, MN) wet 4-4 with a double, while sophomore Josie Olson (Columbia Heights, MN) was 3-3 in the game.

Game 2 - Alma 1, CU 0
Junior Jenny Kaminski (Columbia Heights, MN) suffered her first loss of the season in one of her best pitching performances of her career.  Kaminski allowed a leadoff homerun to give Alma a 1-0.  She would surrender just one more hit as she falls to 6-1 on the year.  She would also only give up one walk in the game as the Bears offense also struggled with just two hits of their own.
