PAUL, Minn. - Concordia University's Jineen Williams has been named the NSIC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her tremendous performance in the team's league win over MSU Moorhead on Saturday.  Williams set a new Concordia NCAA-era scoring record and also put up the league's top scoring performance of the season with her 36 points.  The total is the second highest single game output in school history, just six points shy of the all-time record of 42.  This is the first NSIC Player of the Week honor this season for the league-leading Golden Bears.

Williams hit a string of jump shots to get her #22-ranked Golden Bears off to a great start against MSU Moorhead, who entered the matinee game tied for fourth place in the league and battling for a home playoff spot.  Williams continued her scoring barrage of the Dragons in the second half, thundering her way to the hoop and completing difficult layups.  With the game tied up with 4:45 to play, Williams banged her way to the basket in successive possessions to give the #20-ranked Golden Bears the late edge.

In addition to her scoring efforts, Williams also led the team in rebounding with eight boards and had three assists.  She shot 14-of-21 from the field (66.7%) and 8-of-11 from the free throw line.
