Golden Bears Remain #2 In Central Region

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia University women's basketball team remains at no. 2 in the second Central Region poll of the season, released late this afternoon.  The Golden Bears, ranked #23 nationally, fall in just behind Fort Lewis College of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, which is ranked #6 in the nation.  The Golden Bears are 16-4 on the season with a 14-4 in-region record.  Five of the top eight teams in the poll are from the NSIC.

The Golden Bears have been ranked #2 in the regional in both polls of the season.  The top three teams remain unchanged in the poll, with RMAC teams sandwiching the Golden Bears.  The next closes NSIC team is Wayne State at #4, who jumped from a #7 ranking in last week's poll.  Concordia continues the 2009-10 campaign on the road this weekend, heading out to Bemidji State and Minnesota Duluth on Friday and Saturday.

The top eight teams in the final regional poll of the season will advance to the NCAA postseason in the Central Region Tournament at a site to be determined, held March 12-15.
