ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia's women's basketball program fell in at #2 in the first Central Region Poll of the season, released this afternoon by the NCAA. The Golden Bears are the top-ranked NSIC team with a 15-3 overall record and a 13-3 in-region record. Rocky Mountain Athletics Conference's (RMAC) Fort Lewis holds the top spot in the premier list with a 16-2 overall DII record and a 15-2 regional stand. The NSIC comprises five of the top eight positions, including both Augustana College (#6) and Wayne State (#7), who the Golden Bears will face this weekend.
The NCAA Division II polls will be released every Wednesday through March 3. The top 10 teams in each region are listed for each of the eight regions, with the final top-8 selections coming out Sunday, March 7, which determines the teams who will participate in the 2010 NCAA Tournament.
