Martin played for the Gophers in 2006-07 and averaged 82.90 over ten rounds of golf. She had a low round of 75 at the DeBarry Intercollegiate Invite.
Prior to playing for the Gophers, Martin played at Minnesota State Mankato for her freshman campaign. While with the Mavericks, Martin earned NCC all-conference honors and was a member of all-north region team and qualified for the NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championships in 2005.
"Anne is expected to make an immediate impact next spring", says coach Higgins. "Anne brings championship experience to our program having played in the 2005 National DII Golf Championships. Her experience at the Division I level with the University of MN will also benefit her and our program! I expect her to be a leader on the course and in the classroom. I’m excited to see the positive impact she’ll have on our team and in the NSIC.”
Martin is a graduate of Elk River High School and will join a Concordia team that has been ranked #23 by the Golf World/NGCA Division II Coaches Poll. In the third poll of the golf season, the Golden Bears cracked the top-25 on the national scene for the first time in program history.
The Golden Bears are currently second after the fall portion of the NSIC Championships that will conclude during the spring season. They trail Upper Iowa, ranked #16 in the nation, by 36 strokes after two rounds of play with two rounds still to be completed.
