Jul. 03 – The 13th annual Summer Golf Classic was held on Thursday June 26th at Tartan Park in Lake Elmo, Minn.  With over 170 participants, this year?s event was a great success.  The format once again was best ball and the day was filled with fun side events and two chances at winning a new car.  Unfortunately, nobody won a new car but there were plenty of good shots and the weather was perfect.

Jun. 20 – The 2007 NCAA Division II National Championship won by the Concordia University volleyball team last December has come with many accolades for the team and coaching staff. The awards have not been limited to the players and coaches, however, as the AVCA announced that sports information director Josh Deer was named NCAA Division II Sports Information Director Regional Honoree for the AVCA Grant Burger Media Award.

Jun. 20 – Former Concordia University standout quarterback James McNear ('05) was named the United Indoor Football League (UIF) Most Improved Player for the 2008 season. McNear helped the Omaha Beef to a 10-4 record and a ninth consecutive playoff berth in the Beef's nine years in the UIF.
